In 1986, he was honored with the prestigious All India Radio (AIR) Best Instrumentalist National Award. His contributions to music were further recognized with the “Kala-Gaurav” award in Pune (2012) and the “Guru-Satkar” recognition presented by Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar in 2014.
